9 Oct - A PSI Visual Cylinder Inspector class is scheduled for Friday October 13th at Water World in Durham, and will run from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The cost is $225 ($125 for already certified VCI's who need to requalify). The target audience includes dive store personnel, fire/rescue units and technical divers who wish to be qualified to inspect and sticker their own cylinders. Qualified inspectors are allowed to purchase inspection stickers, tools and supplies directly from PSI. Anyone interested in signing up for the class should contact Bruce Dickson at 919-255-1931. 26 Sept - Never tried SCUBA? Seas will offer the opportunity to try SCUBA with a qualified instructor. FREE sessions will be offered on Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th. The minimum age is 12. Those interested should bring a bathing suit and towel. All SCUBA gear will be provided. Sign-up for these sessions will be held at the Seas Expo ticket desk in the Durham Civic Center. The Seas Scuba Expo promises exciting activities again this year. There will be children's activities, so bring the family. Children under 12 years of age are admitted for free. A Silent Auction will be held again this year with the proceeds going to charity.
